1. Row Level Security (RLS) at the Database Layer
In many consumer health apps, data privacy is merely an application-level filter. If a backend API contains a bug, records can leak across user accounts. CUT & CLEAR eliminates this vulnerability by enforcing security at the database engine level via Postgres Row Level Security (RLS):
Authenticated Policy Enforcement
Every database query for food logs, water entries, body weight, or sleep habits is evaluated against your cryptographic user ID. If an unauthorized session attempts to access another user's rows, the database rejects the query automatically.
Challenge Isolation
When participating in friend challenges, challenge scoring tables are strictly separated from raw personal logs. Friends see your score progress—never your personal food logs or private weight numbers.
2. Modern Authentication & Zero Stored Raw Passwords
Authentication is handled securely via Supabase Auth. Users can sign in seamlessly with Google Sign-In or email magic links. We never handle or store raw user passwords on our servers. All network transmissions use secure HTTPS/TLS encryption.
3. Zero Ad Networks & No Sensitive Permission Harvesting
CUT & CLEAR does not monetize through third-party advertising or commercial data brokering:
- No Advertising IDs: The app does not request or track Google Advertising IDs (AAID).
- No Geolocation Tracking: The app never requests fine or coarse device location permissions.
- No Contact Access: The app does not scan or upload your device contact address book.
4. Unconditional Account & Data Deletion
Data autonomy means you can leave whenever you wish. Users can execute immediate account and health history deletion directly inside the app under Settings > Delete Account, or submit a request via our dedicated Account Deletion portal.
